Perhaps some of my readers may have wondered where I have been.
Well… I underwent surgery. All in all it was a fairly serious ordeal. (which I suppose surgery in itself carries the word serious in itself)
But PRAISE GOD I can report that I feel so much better now that my problem has been fixed, and the pain which I was enduring on a daily basis is gone.
Having this surgery taught me 3 Life Lessons, which I wanted to share with you.
1. God is still in the miracle working business.
My surgeon (who was a true Man of God that believed in the power of prayer) had prepared me for the worse case scenario because thats part of his job requirement. He was happy to report to me after the surgery that “it appeared that someone had already started to clean up the mess that my abdomen was in.” We knew it was nothing other than the hand of God.
2. The Lord will use anything or anyone to speak into your life at any given time.
At my first post-op visit, 5 days after surgery. My surgeon let me know that he had to remove my “suspicious” appendix, because he would hate for me to be somewhere in Thailand and my appendix decide to burst.
3. Never take your health for granted.
I did not realize how much daily pain I had been enduring since the beginning of this year. Nurses are usually the worse for seeking treatment when something goes wrong. Yep that would be me. Even as a Christian and as a nurse, I do firmly believe in the divine power of God to heal and restore. Sometimes we are to do the practical things in addition to believing by faith that we are healed. I did both. I encourage you to do the same.
In the END… I learned just how critical it is to make each moment of your life count. You never know when tomorrow could be your last day.
Live on purpose with the END result in FOCUS. Make your mark on this world.
Make things happen. Bless others. Give and give some more.
And whatever you do…do it in love.
Here’s a few candid shots from the major ordeal which is now behind me! Praise God!
