This is more than an eBook, this is a powerful tool to jumpstart your life in the right direction or get it back on track. The author Melissa Fisher, delivers a transparent and genuine 21-day devotional style message which we all need to grab ahold of, “Get Your House In Order.” Sometimes as believers we lose track of where we are in relation to everything going on around us and in our lives. Speaking from experience, we all too often assist the enemy in destroying our health by putting the “wrong” things in our bodies. We permit confusion and chaos to abide right there beside of us with disorganized homes and disorganized finances. Fisher’s enthusiasm to see the reader experience the same measure of victory and breakthrough which she herself has experienced is clearly conveyed in each daily dose of impartation. If you serve in ministry and you feel like your life is out of balance, or you sense that things are just not going in the direction they should be going, then I highly recommend you download this book. Melissa Fisher carries a voice that God is using to impart into pioneers, world-changers, and history-makers. God is a God of order. So if you consider yourself in one of those three categories (pioneers, world-changers, & history-makers) then “Get Your House In Order- A 21 Day Journey to Breakthrough Victory” must be at the top of your required reading list.
Being a missionary and a modern-day abolitionist, I have a tendency to seek out books that are “mission minded.” Missions is a topic we often hear spoken of in churches. However, most of what you hear just barely grazes the surface, and does not really get to the heart of missions. As born again believers, the Great ComMISSION is God’s heartbeat, and therefore it should most definitely be our heartbeat if we are truly residing in Christ. After receiving this book for review, I immediately dug into it with hopes that it would be more that just a surface level discussion of “missions.” My expectations were certainly met and even exceeded, as “Missional Moves” is a blueprint that should be in the hands of every missionary, mission director, pastor, and director for NGO’s (Non-governmental organization) which carry out missions throughout the world. This comprehensive resource fills a void which has existed in the Kingdom of God, until now. Most mission books in circulation paint a very limited picture of what it actually means to “Go.” For the most part, very few authors outline the significance and importance that God places on diversity. This book does a fabulous job in bringing the reader into the understanding of the need to have a Kingdom perspective and achieving global understanding of every tribe in every nation.
“Missional Moves” unfolds the apostolic movement which is actually now being re-established in the Body of Christ around the world. There has never been a greater time to be alive than right now. Achieving the Great CoMISSION is all about bringing glory to the Father. We are to partner with Him, hence Co-Mission, in spreading the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Before I put a stamp of recommendation on a book it has to speak what The Lord is speaking. This book my friends does just that! This book has God’s fingerprints all over it. I would recommend you get a copy for yourself, and get a copy to give to your pastor or fellow missions director. This book should be required reading for anyone who feels “called” to missions.
I want to end with a very profound statement in the book which should serve as a wake-up call for believers around the world. May it empower you to move forward with what The Lord has called you to do.
["But right now, as the most important game in the world is being played, the church is preparing for the final play of the game. The ball is within reach of the end zone, yet most of the players are clueless about where they are on the field, what position they play, and how much time is left on the clock. Many of them do not even realize that the game is on the line. The arena they play in? The nations of the world. The end zone? The finish of the Great Commission. The team? Every member of the church."] (p.74) – Missional Moves
l think John of Patmos pretty much sums it up when he wrote this in Revelation chapter 1 verse 3; from the Message translation is reads:
“How blessed the reader! How blessed the hearers and keepers of these oracle words, all the words written in this book! (referring to the Bible)
Time is just about up.”
What you do or don’t do today, will determine the legacy you leave for tomorrow.
The legacy you leave is not only physical items, like money or material things. You will leave a spiritual legacy that will pass on to the next generation.
The legacy left to me by my great-grandmother, along with her countless stories, home remedies, and words of wisdom will always be my most meaningful possession.
Key Points to leaving a Spiritual Legacy:
- The words you sow in prayer today will reap bountiful rewards in the days, weeks, months, and years to come.
- The relationship you have with the Lord today will impact your family in the generations to come.
I know these things to be true, because my paternal great-grandmother passed along a rich spiritual legacy onto me. Her name was Patti Tuck (a.k.a. Grandma Tuck) (see photo above) and she lived to be 105 years old. She was a woman of relentless faith and continual prayer.
Her 1st gift to me: A legacy founded in prayer.
Back in those days she and her husband were sharecroppers. Money was scarce, but my Grandma Tuck had something much more precious than money. —-> She had FAITH & TRUST in the Lord!
She had everlasting faith in God. No matter the situation or circumstance her complete trust was always in the Lord. She would talk to Him, and ask Him what to do. Then He would give her specific instructions to carry out.
Her 2nd gift to me: A legacy of faith and trust in the Lord.
In the ’90′s Grandma Tuck was placed in a home so she could receive around the clock nursing care due to her poor eyesight. While there she became a contributing author in a book published by the facility entitled, “Do Preachers Really Like Fried Chicken?” (see pictures below)
Her 3rd gift to me: A legacy of authorship- “the occupation of writing” what the Lord says.
Grandma Tuck contributed the most content (6 pages) in the chapter on “Home Remedies.” (You can read the entire section she penned which is subtitled “Curin’ Babies: Home Remedies from Patti Tuck” by seeing actual pictures below at this end of this post.)
Grandma Tuck first used her home remedies on her own children. Then she eventually became the “nurse” everyone in the vicinity called on when someone was sick or hurting. She would ask the Lord what she needed to do to help and treat them. Then she would do exactly what He told her to do. She was the Lord’s hands extended.
In an excerpt from the book Grandma Tuck says:
“I learned a little from the old midway women. When you were poorly or sick, they’d come and make it right. Outside of that, the Lord would lead me. I’d never O’ thought O’ these things myself and I never lost a one ’cause the Lord was with me.” (p.74)
Her 4th gift to me: A legacy of caring for the sick (nursing), and witnessing Jesus heal them.
God gave her such priceless gifts back then, to be inherited by me now. How amazing is that?
It was such an honor and a privilege that God allowed me the opportunity to visit with her many times before she transitioned to her heavenly home. I would just sit and listen to her tell about her life and past experiences, how the Lord always took care of her and her family through the good and bad times.
The 5th and final gift she passed on to me was: A legacy of love. (Love for the Lord and love for others.)
THE END FOCUS…..
What kind of legacy will you leave?
What spiritual gifts have been given to you by God, which He expects you to pass on to the next generation?
God not only needs you to, but He expects you to impart wisdom and revelation into your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins’ children, etc. etc.
If you happen not to have any immediate family or children, then ask the Lord to show you someone who needs what you have to give.
Start making your mark today, to leave a legacy for tomorrow.
And in the words of my great-grandmother — “Don’t give me the credit. That goes to the Lord. He told me what to do every time.”
